Dennis Dillon is a professional musician
with over 30 years experience as a performer, tutor and luthier (guitar
builder and restorer).
He is a talented multi-instrumentalist, skilled in acoustic and electric
guitar, slide and lap-steel guitar, Dobro and National steel guitar,
harmonica and mandolin.
His material features a number of original compositions and covers a
wide range of influences, including traditional American folk and blues,
rhythm and blues, country, rockabilly and rock and roll.
Born in Chicago, Illinois USA, Dillon moved to the southwest in his teens,
playing in various bands in New Mexico throughout the 1970s. He is
perhaps best known for his dynamic roles as singer and guitarist with a
rock band, The Refrigerators, who toured extensively in the early 1980s.
For the last decade, he has been performing live as a featured solo
artist at various venues and festivals in New Mexico. While there he ran
his own guitar workshop and retail business. He also mentored a number
of students from career enrichment and vocational rehabilitation
programs. He also made several appearances on local radio and TV.
Dennis lives on Cape Cod. He is performing his latest project, "American
Guitar: Design and Evolution", in which he presents a fascinating
heritage of historical and vintage instruments along with the music they
inspired.
